What was the role?


Transformation Director at A4e (A4e was a leading public service provider running a range of services, specifically employment and welfare.)



What experience did I gain from it?



I was managing several different teams in separate locations.  One of my toughest responsibilities was when A4e lost contracts as the government had changed from labour to conservative and I was responsible for making my teams redundant. 


Why is it an anchor moment?


It was a challenge to remain professional and stay human as I guided and informed my team through the process and the ups and downs that this brought to their lives. As a result I try and always show a human face in business.  It is important to recognise that each individual has a lot going on in their lives and that work is just a small part of it.
